Simultaneous Remote Control of RF systems
BL Monitor and Control AB is headquartered in Sweden. Currently we are working on two separate compact accelerator projects
- A compact neutron source located near Budapest, Hungary
- A compact superconducting RF electron accelerator located at Fermilab near Chicago, Illinois
Currently both facilities are up and running at the same time. From our headquarters in Sweden, we had a busy day overseeing the tuning of the RF systems for both of the accelerators simutaneously. One the left side of the image is the main control app and vacuum app for the compact neutron source Radio Frequency Quadrupole (RFQ). We were stepping up the RF power to condition the RFQ after a long shutdown.
On the right side of the image is the low level RF control app for the compact superconducting RF electron accelerator. We were tuning the phase lock loop to lock into the high Q cavity after the cavity has been cooled down to 4 Kelvin.
